Well 6th graders, you just finished an awesome week of school at SJP. To refresh your memory, we saw a Chinese New Year presentation, the state capitol and the judicial building on Monday. On Tuesday, we performed reader's theatre scripts all at three area Catholic grade schools. Wednesday found us on the road to the science museum in St. Paul. Thursday was spent at Powder Ridge. Here's your blog assignment: Select ONE part of your week. Create a good piece of writing describing the part you select. Remember a beginning, middle and end! Possibly throw in some good show not tell writing or a literary technique or two. Remember to think small--maybe you'll write about meeting the Supreme Court justice, or flying down the hill for the first time at Powder Ridge. Maybe you want to tell your feelings on performing for a captive audience or watching the raquetball crack after being in the liquid nitrogen. You decide. The important thing is to really show off your writing skills. This is due by Friday, Feb. 17, 2012.

My favorite thing that we did was going to powder ridge. I loved going down the hills with the wind biting at my face. The snow sprayed up like a small wall. I also liked going on the chair lift and just being able to talk to my friends. I absoulutely loved Powder Ridge it was a perfect day to go.

My favorite thing was going to Powder Ridge. The sun shone brightly off the hillside like a huge spotlight. The view from the top was amazing. Then you went over the edge as you speed down the hill with the wind whipping in your face. You speed down the hill like a bullet. At the end of the hill you hurriedly slowed down and got back in line. Powder Ridge was really fun and I can't wait to go there next year.

One of my favorite things this week was snowboarding down the steep, smooth slopes at Powder Ridge. I really enjoyed riding down millions of hills with my friends. I would feel amazing as i was flying down the hill. I flew down the slopes like a fish swims threw water. The snow stuck to my snowboard and my goggles. I had a great experience with my friends and had LOTS of laughs along the way. The weather was almost perfect! The wind only occasinaly bite my face. It was great and I would love to go again.

My favorite part of this week was seeing the show on liquid nitorgen. I liked it when the lady shaddered the ball by putting it in liquid nitrogen. It didn't make as much noise as I thought it would when she dropped it on the floor and it pretty much expooled. I also liked when she took a blown up balloon and put it in the liquid nitrogen. After she put it in there it looked like a shrived up prune before it expaned. That was my favorite part of the week.

I think that the best part of Last week was the Omni Movie about the amazon. The look on imani's face was priceless when the preveiws started. It seemed as though we were going to hit that first ice berg we saw. After the movie started I was just waiting to see when we would see the fisr snake, and, within the first twenty minuets I saw one. Heidi and I high fived, and did the same thing whenever we saw a snake. I think it must've been pretty hair raiseing for all the first timers, but I think that I was the only person who almost had their circulation cut off by one. I've always loved the Omni theater, but more than that I love interum.

My favorite part about interm was skiing at powder ridge after the lessons were done because the far right chair lift was open. Drew, Gabe, Ben, Andy, and I were skiing on the two runs over there. On the far right run there was a path through the woods. We would go therough there a little bit. We only went on those two runs for the rest of the time after the other chair lift opened. Thursday was my favorite day for interm.

My favorite day of interim was skiing at Powder Ridge. At first it was so much fun, but when it came to going down then hill wedging. Well, that got out of control for me... So Nate, Elyse, and I went back inside and hung out. I ate lunch with some of my good friends. After Cianna, Ari and I had enough, I loved going with them to watch other people ski and snowboard. They made it look so easy, well its not. Then Ari and I went to the far and watched the some of the 7th and 6th grade boys. Except couple of them sprayed snow on us(I think they know who there), but it was still fun. I loved Powder Ridge, I may have quit but soon Im going to learn how to ski well. :) Adois

My favorite part was zipping down the great powder ridge. I found it fun to spend time with friends, helping those same friends ski(Celeb) and, of course, zipping past those friends on the slopes. This was the most fun in the most fun week at prep. Important, Mrs. Anderson please read. Important: i wish every week was interm. I want to go sking all the time!

There i was at the top of the course Outback. I was fresh of the Bunny Hill, the course seemed to go on forever as I stared down hill. My skiis started to slide, i bent my knees and was in control. I felt the wind through my helmet, i was sliding, slipping and slowing down as i went down the hill. I turned the corner and saw the chairlift. I had done it i Had gone down a big hill! And for my first time skiing i thought i did a good job.

All of interm was AWESOME but my favorite part would have to be when we went to powder ridge. It was so much fun skiing/ snowboarding with my friends!!! I loved riding on the chairlift because we were cracking jokes the whole ride up. It felt good to sore down the hill like a bird, and meet back up with my friends at the bottom. I was sad when we had to pack up and go home but i will always remember the fun i had at powder ridge.

My favorite part of Interim was the Science Museum show; 'The Fire Triangle'. In the show, the host began with explaining the Triangle of Fire to us. Then, out-of-the-blue she held up a tissue which went up in a glorious burst of orange-blue flame as quickly as a cheetah runs. Then she takes a $20 dollar bill, soaks it in a bowl of something, and burns it to a crisp, or at least that's what the audience is expecting. It burst into flame then stops like a car for a stop sign. Next, she takes a pie pan and fills it with alcohol. She then she drops it on a spinning platform and lights the alcohol on fire. Over the platform she puts a giant thimble looking thing over the pan. Then she starts spinning it. The fire swirls and twirls about in a miniature tornado of flame. Then she slowly stops spinning the platform, and the show is over. I loved this show, and I love Interim.

Hi, um, well, ahhh, ok, I can’t decide if I liked the science museum or the powder ridge field trips so I'll tell about a little of each first I’ll do the science museum. At the science museum I liked the cryogenics and the fire triangle presentations and the room of dino fossils and dino bones the best. I also liked the little movie we saw. At powder ride I learned how to ski and that was very fun. Even though I didn’t rely learn how to turn or stop. I just taught myself how to. Skiing is harder than I thought but I still am good at it. This is my blog bye, bye.

My favorite thing was going to Powder Ridge. I like Powder Ridge because i got to go there with my friends and go down the slops with them! Another time i like at Powder Ridge was when we went and ate, the food was very good. When i was in the chair lift I swear i could see the world, and it looked cool. That was my favorite fieldtrip this year.

My favorite thing that I did in interm was doing the readers theater presentations. I really liked acting things out for an audience. I loved seeing the kid's faces light up during our performances. The bus rides were really fun too, because I got to talk to all of my friends and discuss our performances. It was cool to go to St. Boniface, because that's the church I go to. I also got to see some people that I know from the Cold Spring area. I hope we get to do something like this again soon.

My favorite part of interim was doing the reader's theater performances. It was brilliant to see little kids' faces light up at small things, like when Anansi went 'KPOM'. Seeing the smiles on their faces just made my day! The only bad part: "Who was your favorite character?"... "Everrybody!" (x30000). That was my favorite part of interim.

My favorite part of interm probably be falling a BIZILLION times at Powdder Ridge. When I started snow boarding, I could'nt really push myself around but, when I rushed down the hill and swished around it started to get better. I just fell A LOT! Over all the trip was really fun. The next moring I was so sore Icould barley move): but thats why you keep doing it because it's fun. That was probably the best winter activity ever!!! Can't wait to go back and fall some more!

My favorite part of interm was the Science Museum. There were lots of cool and intresting things to learn. My favorite part of the day was when a girl did a presintation on liquid nitrogen. She had a baloon and put some liquid nitrogen on it the baloon deflated. When the baloon went to regular tempurture the baloon went back to its origanal form. After the presentataion we got to wander around and eat lunch. After lunch the same person did another presentataion. This time it was called the fire triangle. She lit a fire on a stant and put a ring around it. Next she spun the ring making the fire turn into a fire tonado. Fire tornados occur when there is a lot of wind during a wild fire. I leared a bunch at the science museum and hope to go there again.

Hi Mrs.anderson the thing that I am writing about is the scienice museam. We came right from school to the scienice museam. We started on floors the first floor were the dinasors and the weather stashon than we got to go to the second floor that had the human body my favorite part is when the girled sneezed on you lukily it was just water. Next we went to the lab called cryogenics I thot it was very cold. Next we went to the first floor were their is this game you have to drive a boat down the mississippi river. We also went to the omney theater to see the amazon. I almost hulered becuase the omney theater is just so disening. After that we ate lunch my lunch was good. After that we got to rub off so we went to the bottom floor were there was the weather to see the fire triangle. We got to see a 20 dollar bill burn but it did not burn than she told us how she did it but that is a long lesson to burn. It was the end of the day at the science museam I hope you liked my story about our classes day at the scienice museam by for now.

Interm was probably one of the best weeks of sixth grade, and my favorite part about it was skiing off Powder Ridge. At the top of a blue square course, Powder Puff, I leaned off the edge and peered at the steep dive that stood infront of me. For a moment I almost decided to turn back. I realized my skiis were already on the slope off the hill, and I had no choice. I crouched down, and jumped into speed. My mind was racing, and my heart was pounding. The snow chopped at my feet, and I went in a curved pattern to slow myself down. At the bottom, my face broke out into a smile. I plowed to the chairlift, and rode up again. After that, I enjoyed the entire trip. I loved the entire experiece, and look forward to coming as a seventh grader.
