Hello sixth graders. It was a BIG week for history day. You really had to accomplish a lot! I am soooo proud of those of you who had your 25 note cards ready to hand in today. I'll get them back to you on Monday!!! For your blog this week, please just give me an update of what you did, how it went, and what you are learning. Next week we visit the Historical Center library where you will get to see some primary sources for your topic. Remember to update your bibliography weekly so it is an easy task at the end. I can help you with your citations in school. Some of you need to find more sources. They are out there if you just go looking.
Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying a well deserved semester break. I know a few of you will be working on your History Day project. This blog entry is just in case you want to let me know what you are up to with your project. If you have questions are just want to tell me what you've been doing, leave a comment here for me.
OK., 6th graders most of you got in the groove and reported in on your first official week of History Day progress. Thank you for getting off on a good start. This week I put some specific tasks on your History Day homework page. Remember that you need to be doing something for history day each night. I know it is tough with vacation so close, but if we wait until after vacation, we will run out of time. On Wednesday this week, you need to let me know what you've done on Monday and Tuesday. Again, the more specific you are, the greater chance you will have of getting that 3 point entry. If you didn't do anything last week, I've left those tasks up so you can go back and get caught up during the break.
Now that you've picked your topic. The excitement of learning more about it begins. Each week on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday you will post a blog comment describing the work you've done this week on your project. I will be explaining this assignment to you this week so don't begin until this weekend. This is a graded assignment. Watch your History Day homework page for hints on what you should be doing at home.
This progress blog is where you will tell me what you did this week. The more specific you are the more points your entry will receive. There will be examples given in class. |
