Hello 6th graders. We've had a few good times in the last week. We went on an exciting camping trip. Today we celebrate fall with many fun events. Please select one event from the past two weeks and write a good paragraph about it for our blog. Remember what makes a good paragraph: topic sentence, colorful details and a good closing sentence. Please finish this assignment by the end of next week.

Last week our class(and a few volenters)went camping over night, before we had to go to bed, we roasted marshmellows, and sang songs. I grabbed a stick from the ground, and gropped in the bag for a marshmellow. When I found one, I tried to roast it, but within five second, it burned to a crisp. I threw it in the fire because no one wanted it. I tried to make many more, but they all burnt. After we had all had our fill of marshmellows, we started to sing songs. First Mrs. Anderson taught us a funny one that changed Nursery Nymes. Next, we sang Comin' Round' the Mountain, Doninic, Goodnight Ladies, and Hi-Ho Cherio all at once. We finished with The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy). Then we Went to the bathroom, brushed our teeth, and crawled into our sleeping bags in our tents.

Last week our class went camping and a few parents went with us. We got to go down to the docking place and skip stones or play capture the flag. I remember a few of my friends having a competition on how mant stones the could skip. It was really hard to find flat stones but there were a few. Finally we had to go back to the camp site and eat. But my favorite part was simply being with my friends.

A couple weeks ago we went camping. We climbed up a fire tower. On the first couple flights,i thouht it was a piece of cake. When i got farther up i was a little more shakey. Almost to the top, I cant wait! I start to to climb over the tree tops. I see all the pretty trees when I look down. I see a little of mille lacs lake. I reach the top! I see a amazing view. We take pictures. I look down to see the small people looking back up at me. I smile, I made it. I stay and look around for a while. I start to make my way back down. When I finally made it back, I felt accoplished, for what I did.

Last week our class and a few parents went on a camping trip up in mille lacs kathio state park. It was a fun time my highlight was playing capture the flag in the dark.It was a very hard thing to do.We could'nt tell where we were going in the woods with out a flashlight because if we used our flashlight we would get caught if we were on the enemy side. And it was really hard to find the flag. Overall it was a really fun thing to do and I hope we can do it again.

When we were camping we played capture the flag in the dark. It was really fun. You couldn't see anthing with out your flash light. Kevin was wearning all black and he didn't have his flash light on, so he hid in the woods and scared people like Drew. It was hard to run in the woods. I wish we had more time to play in the dark.

My favorite thing that happend these past couple weeks was the celebrate fall day. My favorite part of celebrate fall day was making apple crisp. We got to make apple crisp and eat it! I got to help mix the dough and lick it off my fingers when I was done mixing. It was really hard to get the dough off your fingers, but somehow we all managed to get it off. I love fall!

My favorite part of the past weeks was taking the bike ride to the Saint Joseph water-tower. I had only been on a bike ride that long only once before, so it was a pretty new experience. Biking next to my friends though, it felt completely natural!

It was fun playing capture the flag in the dark becuase, you could not see anyone. It was hard not to trip over anything like sticks or rocks. The best part was trying to find people when they didn't have there flash light on! We took the hat (the hat was our flag) and put it in mine so they didn't see or know where it was! I enijoyed play that game at night with my classmates! It was a lot of fun!

When we were camping we played capture the flag. It was fun because it was dark and we couldnt see anything. I triped over a lot of sticks because I was in the woods. Nobody won because nobody could see the flag.

A couple of weeks ago while we were camping we climbed the fire tower. At first I thought it was easy, but after awhile I was starting to lose my breath. When I got to the top I thought to my self I did it. The veiw was amazing. All the beautiful fall colors I took lots of pictures. On the way down I was shaking. The steps were not very big and I am kind of afriad of heights. I had a lot of fun climbing the fire tower that day.

My favorite part of the last two weeks was when we played the night games on the camping trip. However capture the flag was my favorite game. It lasted for about an hour and a half, and when we were done it was pitch black. I started out on the team that had the boys side of the camp to hide our flag. I loved it when I got onto the other teams ground with a group of people and snooped around for the flag. And almost everyone participated so we had big teams. But i liked it and im sure many other people in my class did too.

My most favorite part of camping would have to be climbing the GIANT firetower. I went up (the fist time) with two of my friends, but i really started to get scared when we were only had 4 more floors left,so idecided to clinb down. When i got to the bottom all of my other friend went up and made it to the top, and that made me want to give it another try, so i did. On the second try i got scared again but i just forced myself to climb and in a blink of an eye, i was at the top! The veiw was BEAUTIFUL! you could see Mille Lacs lake from above! Then all of a sudden the wind picked up and the top rattled like a rattle snake! In two shakes of a lambs tail i was 3 flights down, then at the bottom. that was so thrilling but so fun! I will never forget the time i climbed the firetower.

A couple weeks ago we went camping at Kathio State Park. The most fun thing we did when we went camping is playing capture the flag at night. The second game we played, we hid our flag(Drew's hat) in Cianna's hat. The other team never found it. One time, Kevin(who wore all black) hid in the woods and he scared us. That was freaky! Even though I kept tripping in the woods, I still had the most fabulous time ever.

About 2 weeks ago my class went camping at Mille Lacs Lake state park. My favorite part was playing capture the flag. It was so dark you couldn't see your own hand in front of your face. You went to the other side, or tried to get there, and looked for the flag. Nobody won though. It was so dark you couldn't even find the flag. I hope we can go camping again. I had a great time.

One beautiful fall-like day, our class decided to have a biking trip from St. John's Prep to St. Joe. Although my tires were rather flat and my chain rather rusty, I pulled through. Being able to talk with my friends and soar through the everlasting wind was completely worth the slight inclines I'd encounter at points in time. At St. Joe, we ate our lunches and had a fun time playing football at on the temporarily green grass. As free as I felt on the way there, it wasn't as much of a joyful time on the way back. It was uphill and wind was pressuring us the whole while. I still managed though. As we came back, we packed up and went home. If a day like that should ever come again, I'll be sure to have a good bike ride!

Last Friday our class went into our spots that we picked out in the woods a few weeks ago and wrote Fall poems or prayers. I choose a poem. I knew in my last experiences with writing poems at my old school wasn't so good. But Mrs. Anderson taught us well. My poem turned out amazing! I think the main reason for that is that we were actually in the woods. Overall I happy the way my poem turned out and I hope to do it again soon. Comments are closed.
