This week you will once again have many opportunities to write some good paragraphs. We'll be doing a cool science experiment this week. Sarah will definitely be here on Friday for a wonderful science class. I imagine that we'll go sledding a few more times and learn about some interesting Bible people. There will be much to blog about so get your fingers flying over the computer keys.

Today was so breathtaking because the day went so fast. At recess we played trench dodge ball. It was all full of intense drama. (you know why). We kept going to the other side because if you got hit you had to go to "the trench". (the other side of the basketball court.) About only half of us played trench, the other half played basketball. Everyone came back sweaty and hot. Every day at recess is fun at SJP!

Today I had my first ski meet. We were dismissed out of school early to go to Riverside Park at 1:20. I did a warm-up lap, and was going to get down to do the new bee race, and discovered that it had already started. I was going to take my skis off and walk down, but I couldn't get them off. Eventually, I got them off, walked down the hill, and got in the race. By that time, the race was almost over, but I did one lap, and finished last. Today was a tiering day.

I am happy to hear that Sarah is coming. I really enjoyed learning about trees. I also liked the day we did activities while doing the nature walk. Sarah is super-duper nice. My friends and I think going outside is fun! Sarah makes science interesting.

Science was so fun today. It wasn't exactly science today, we used part of our study time for science experiment. It was so much fun! We put water in a cup all the way to the brim. Then we put an index card on top of it, and finnaly we turned it upside down! Most of our tries were in success but some of our tries weren't as successful. After that we tried to poke a hole in the bottum of the cup. We put a piece of tape on the hole, we filled the cup with water again with the index card and so forth, but before we let go of the index card we slowly took off the tape on the hole. Of course it didn't stay. Our class also used the same process with a hole in the side of the cup. Mine stayed for only a second or two. I think the reason for that was because I took off the piece of tape very slowly. Science today was one of the most exciting projects so far!

We did so many fun things on Wednesday but the best thing was the science experiment. We were testing the magic of air pressure with a cup of water. We would fill a cup full with water and put a note card on top. We would hold the note card on, flip the cup over, and take off our hand......and the card stayed on. It stayed on because the air pressure in the cup pushed the card up so it stayed on. We then poked holes in the cup but the card would fall off right away because the air could escape. We have done many fun experiments in science but this air pressure one was my favorite.

Today was as fabulice day! We made Jesse Tree symbols in art for our prayer service that we will do before brake. We are learning about the Jesse tree charictors in theology. The bible contains some of the charictors on the jesse tree. My day was so fun learning about the Jesse tree!!!!

Today we did a science expierement. We had lots of fun and laughs. The point of the expierement was to keep water in a cup upside down with a note card on the bottom. That part we succeeded but the next part we didn't we pushed hole in the cup wich made the card fall and the water with it. At the end we filled in a work sheet of are data and see who's hypothisis were right, and the thing we were testing was about air pressure. It was fun and personaly I love science (and thats a fact).

Today in band we went to the weber center to pratice. It was different and it felt more tight. When I was playing today and it seemed really loud but thats how I like it. It gies me a feel how our consert will be like.

This week was an awesome week. Today we sold floats. There were root beer floats and orange soda floats. I hope we've made enough money for toys for tots! On Thursday in orchestra we went to the weber center to practice. It really sounded awesome. Today there was an upper school concert in the morning. First, the upper school choir sang a few songs. Next, the upper school orchestra played some cool songs. Finally the upper school band played a few tunes. I really enjoyed this week.

This week we learned about people from the bible. There were a lot of people I didn't know of such as Adam and Eve or King David. Learnig in Theology is really cool. In art we made Jesse Tree symbols of a person in the bible. We didn't just paint or draw the symbols. Instead we glued little sheets of really thin colorful paper to a canvas textured paper to make the shape of the Jesse Tree symbol. It was hard but it was also fun and it looked awesome. I like working on projects like this one

On Friday we went out in the woods with Sarah. Alex, Ella, Lorine, Finn, and I found a big hole that we think a rabbit dug but a mole moved into because Alex and I put our hand in it and it got smaller as it went down. Alex also found a huge feather by the hole so we think that what ever's in there is prey to some bird. Then we found the bottom of a tree was hollowed out. Too soon Sarah called us back. As we were walking back, Ella realized that that was the tree I Had been looking in. We were that stupid. Then science was over and we walked into the building laughing at ourselves.

Ok I know I'm late I just dodnt have time. So what I'm going to do is this. Today we went into the woods with Sarah. Everyone had a ball or so I think but before we did that we learned some man made things were based on natural things. But in the woods we just looked for signs of animals. Wsome how everyone sort of split up into groups. My group found a game trail and what that is well is sort of a little highway for the animals. At the end everyone was happy and tired ready to go home exept me I wished that we could have stayed out there all day, but I still had fun and can't wait for next time.

Friday was a really fun day. Sarah started a science unit with us. We learned that burdock seeds inspired velcro and shark skin inspired fast skin swimsuits. After that we went outside and looked around for signs that animals were outside in the woods. Many things were found. Some people found a hole that looked kind of like a den. There were strange seeds near the statue of the woman with the dog. I wonder where the seeds came from. Sarah showed us a mound of snow and things and she said it was a sign that animals had been there. When we came out of the forest we talked about what we had found. Science was really awesome on Friday.

The sciencde thing with sarah was A....Mazing i wish we can keep doing all these interesting things. It was cool about the many interesting things we all found. Me, Finn and Gwyneth found these holes in a tree and one down a tunnel that i attempted to stick my arm down. The hole was not just one animal but two when I put my hand down the hole it was big but once my had traveled slowly along it leed to another that only my two fingers could go through and i thought that was pretty sweet! I also found a big feather that had blood on the tip of and i found that vey interesting. I can't wait to do this again. Comments are closed.
