I've got to get in the habit of telling someone in the morning that it is their day to write in the blog. The day flew by and I realized that I had once again forgotten to appoint a blogger of the day. Hopefully tomorrow! We had a pretty normal day of school. We started the book A Single Shard, we began our first chapter in Minnesota history, and we are learning our first unit of vocabulary words. In science class we learned about the 3 biomes found in Minnesota: prairie, deciduous trees, and the northern ( coniferous forest). All in all it was a day filled with learning.
The hike out to the chapel today was amazing! On the way there we had to find something to write clues about and have our classmates guess what they were. We are all getting along really well.
Today got away from us and my student writer didn't get to the blog. We finally had science today. We spent the first part of science making appointments with other students. These appointments will be are permanent partners until the semester is over. We have 12 different sets of partners. Next we went outside to collect a small object. We had to describe it on an index card. We put the objects on the ground and read our descriptions. We had to see how if others could identify our object. Some of us picked object that were too big to bring to look at so we will try this again tomorrow on Chapel walk. Lots of homework due tomorrow, but many students finished it all in class.
Today, it was was fun and terrible too. Right away we had a math test. It was hard. People really fusrated. The rest of the day was fun. Most of us played dodge ball at recess. Tody we have art. I think we are drawing. Today was fun.
Today we had a convocation. A covocation is a time to listen how to improve our school life A convocation is a meeting held in church and the Headmaster introduced a workers and students. We had our World Language class and then study hall. After that we went swimming in lake Sagatagan. We had a super fun second day of school!!
The first day of school was awesome! The first thing we did was get our pictures taken for our ID. Mrs. Anderson took us on a tour of the school so we know where everything is. Everybody went to their Exploratory Languages (Spanish, German, or Manderin Chinise). Some of the students went to their music class (Orchestra, band) While the choir students are going to have wait until tomorrow to go to their class. We all learned how to open our lockers (It's not as easy at it looks!) though it took a while to do it! We had a great first day and are looking forward to the rest of the school year!
