Hey 6th graders-- Last week you learned a lot about a variety of science concepts. Your blog assignment for this week is to write a great paragraph ( and you KNOW what a paragraph is!!!) about one concept that you learned about during last week's many science filled activities. Be sure your paragraph is just about one concept. Be sure it is about what you learned not what you did! Have fun! Thanks for sharing with others all the great things your are learning in your science experiences!
This is our last full week of the semester. We went shopping today for Toys for Tots. We'll walk the toys over to the Great Hall tomorrow. Looking ahead we have several tests in the next few days. Probably the best part of our week will be our time with Sarah Gainey in the science building tomorrow. Please take some time and blog about our week.
This week you will once again have many opportunities to write some good paragraphs. We'll be doing a cool science experiment this week. Sarah will definitely be here on Friday for a wonderful science class. I imagine that we'll go sledding a few more times and learn about some interesting Bible people. There will be much to blog about so get your fingers flying over the computer keys.
Hey 6th graders,
We have a busy week a head of us. We'll be making weather instruments in science and heading to the history museum in St. Paul. We will also visit the Minnesota State Capitol building. On Thursday, Sarah from the St. John's Arboretum will be starting a terrific science unit with us. On Friday we are going to sell ice cream floats for only $1.00! There will be many things for you to choose to blog about this week! Blog away! Today the 6th graders were given a blogging assignment. Between now and Christmas everyone needs to blog a few paragraphs! Have fun!
It has been awhile since we've written a blog entry. We have finished The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. We've started a new unit in science called Monster Storms. In social studies we will be creating websites for different chapters in our Minnesota history book. We've been out in the snow and have gone sledding down the hill. We are busy creating stories in Writer's Workshop. Today's group wrote for 40 minutes straight without any stopping. We've been very busy in 6th grade.
OK, sixth graders. That's my view. Please add on your thoughts on what we've been up to lately! Thanks! O.K. 6th graders. Please do some blogging this weekend to tell others about our day. Thanks so much for a fun filled day!
We had a good day in school today. After our vocabulary tests, we wrote pen pal letters to our pen pals in Ghana. Next we traveled to St. Cloud to see Pippi Longstocking at GREAT theatre. After returning to school, we had lunch and recess. It was a beautiful day for a Dr. Dodgeball games. A few kids played in the leaves. I think they are building a fort! Our afternoon was filled with finishing up all of our projects so that after break we can start on new things. I think almost everyone made it! Everyone went to the computer lab to type a writing project about Grown Up Rules. The writings are wonderfully creative. We ended up our day today with Art class. It is time for a well deserved vacation.
Today has been a very fun day. Most of the students in class were wearing pajamas. We are starting newspapers in social studies with articles on the fur trade. It is fun learning about how to write a newspaper. We have to tell who, what, where, when and why/how. We had a vocab test today and it went smoothly for me. We are also finishing up The Birchbark House and The Game of Silence. In Theology we read an Ojibwe creation story. I like to learn about the Ojibwe.
This week has been busy. We have done many projects and experiments. On Thursday we went to radio tower field and played ultimate frisbee. Friday we will walk to the chapel for a retreat and we get peanut butter and bread.(hopefully Mrs. Anderson does not forget the knife again!) eExt week we have pajama day on Monday so DO NOT FORGET THEM!
